It’s time for Apple to dump Webkit and go with Chrome. It is not a browser that looks at the Internet as a whole and keeps up with the technology. Safari betrays a company that has a browser and is interested in doing just what is necessary to keep it compatible to standards and that’s it. In any case, it is time for us to stop just attacking competitive products simply because they didn’t slide out of Apple’s poop chute. In fact it will freeze both my entire Mac and/or iPad from time to time. Safari is often frustrated by sites with heavy ads, freezing and thing. The browser wars are over and Chrome won. It’s like when Steve say the desktop wars are over and Microsoft won. Google’s Chrome add-on and plug-in world have grown huge. If you need to use a browser, try Chrome, which doesnt encounter the same issues that come up when trying to use Teams in Safari. Microsoft saw this, and this is why they developed Edge. Microsoft Teams for Safari is still in preview, and some features, such as joining meetings or using the camera, sometimes dont work unless settings are adjusted. Im not sure what causes my Safari issues, I get pages that just seem to hang sometimes, and that does not happen with Chrome. I dont use a lot of plug-ins, just Adblock and 1Password. Seems like Chrome is a little faster, but the user experience on a Mac with Safari is so much better. And yes, it is the fault of the developers, but they simply are not concerned about meeting the needs of Safari. I keep bouncing between Safari and Chrome.
